Commercial Driver Jobs description
A commercial driver job entails driving commercial vehicles like trucks and buses.The primary responsibility of a commercial driver is to practice safe and timely driving on the road.
Other important daily duties of a commercial driver include pick up and delivery of cargo, performing complete pre trip inspection including tire pressure, fluid levels etc, completing route sheets, vehicle condition reports and other forms, following all safety policies and procedures, keeping the vehicle clean and maintained, loading and unloading cargo when required, maintaining coordination with dispatcher to ensure timely delivery and performing all other assigned duties.
For a commercial driver job, a high school diploma or a G.E.D is preferred. Minimum age requirement generally varies between 21-25 years. A candidate must possess a valid class A or B commercial driver license (CDL) and a good safety record. Prior commercial driving experience is a plus. An ideal candidate should also be able to pass physical and drug/alcohol test.
