Tanker Driver Jobs description
Tanker driver jobs involve driving rounded trailers known as tankers that carry all kinds of liquids from milk to fuel to chemicals. The job entails delivering to businesses, factories, work sites, hospitals, farms etc.The primary responsibility of a tanker driver is to safely handle his load, and to follow strict guidelines for loading and unloading procedures. It is the duty of a tanker driver to take full responsibility for his vehicle, conduct daily checks, ensure cleanliness of the vehicle, load and unload goods properly and operate the vehicle in a safe manner in accordance with all legal laws and regulatory policies and procedures. A tanker driver ensures that food grade tankers are clean and tankers carrying flammables and hazardous materials are handled carefully.
For a tanker driver job, a high school diploma is preferred. Minimum age requirement generally varies between 21-25 years. A class-A CDL with tanker endorsement is also important. Previous tanker driving experience and Hazmat endorsement is desirable. An ideal candidate must be physically fit and must possess a clean driving record.
