Trucking Jobs
A trucking job entails driving a truck to transport a variety of goods between home terminal and assigned destinations. A truck driver is responsible for pick-up and delivery of goods and maintaining appropriate documentation of the same.
Other important duties of a truck driver include inspecting the truck and reporting any mechanical defects, loading and unloading freight if required and assisting in the loading and unloading of oversized freight, maintaining accurate travel and freight logs, coordinating regularly with dispatcher to ensure on-time delivery, ensuring compliance with state/federal laws and regulations, refueling the vehicle as needed, maintaining clean and safe operating conditions and safely performing all other essential functions.
For a trucking job, a high school diploma or a G.E.D is preferred. Minimum age requirement generally varies between 21-25 years. A candidate must possess a valid CDL. Previous truck driving experience and a good driving record are important. A candidate should also be able to pass a drug/alcohol and background check.
