Trailer Driver Jobs
A trailer is a large vehicle which is hauled by a truck or a tractor. A trailer driving job involves providing safe and on-time deliveries to customers, supported by accurate and complete paperwork requirements as mandated by DOT regulations.
Other important day-to-day duties of a trailer driver include operating the vehicle safely, communicating with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries, undertaking load inventory and inspection of goods, participating in loading of goods and unloading at customer site if required, performing routine inspection of vehicle before and after trips to ensure road safety and preparing and maintaining records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. A trailer driver also needs to be physically fit as the job may require heavy lifting and moving.
To apply for a trailer driver job, a high school diploma or a G.E.D is preferred. Minimum age requirement generally varies between 21-25 years. A candidate must possess a valid class A CDL and a good driving record. Prior trailer driving experience and forklift certification is desirable. A candidate must also be able to pass physical and alcohol/drug test.
