Transport Driver Jobs
A transport driver job involves picking up, transporting and delivering supplies, materials and equipment to pre-determined destinations.
The main responsibilities of a transport driver are delivering finished products and materials to businesses and individuals, assisting in loading and unloading, maintaining DOT driver logs and adhering to all DOT regulations, checking vehicle regularly for safe and proper operating conditions, observing all traffic rules and safety precautions while driving, troubleshooting equipment problems and making basic repairs, preparing all required documents and reports in a timely manner, refueling when required and conducting detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
For a transport driver job, a high school diploma or a G.E.D is preferred. Minimum age requirement generally varies between 21-25 years. A candidate must possess a valid CDL and a clean driving record. Previous driving experience is important. A candidate should also be able to pass physical and drug/alcohol tests.
