Entry-Level Driver Jobs
Entry level jobs are available to those drivers with little or no experience, but which provide training and prospect of future advancement. Entry-level truck drivers cover all essential duties of a truck driver during their training period.
The main responsibility of an entry-level driver is to drive safely and as per schedule.
Other important duties include basic equipment maintenance and inspection, ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations, trip planning and map reading, keeping the vehicle safe and serviced, executing timely pick-up and delivery of various goods and maintaining all reports and delivery documents.
For an entry-level driver job, a high school diploma or a G.E.D is preferred. A candidate must hold a valid driving license and should be able to pass physical and drug/alcohol tests. Generally, trucking companies pay for CDL truck driving training programs of entry-level drivers and absorb them in the company after successful completion of the training.
