How to Keep Yourself Awake as a Truck Driver, Legally

As a truck driver, you have to work long hours and drive for a long time, often working nights and weekends. This can be very exhausting, both physically and mentally. While there are many ways to keep yourself awake as a truck driver, not all of these are legal. We asked a few experienced truck drivers to share their thoughts on keeping awake, legally, and here is what they had to say:

Driving through long night shifts can be exhausting for even the most experienced truck driver. There are a couple of different things and methods that you can use to make sure that you remain awake and have a safe shift each time you drive at night or in graveyard shifts. One technique that helps is to listen to loud music. If you are an avid classical music listener or a genre of music that tends to be soothing, you will have to listen to another category of music and have the volume up louder than usual. Singing along with the music is a great way to stay awake and gain energy as well. Another method that I frequently used is to chew gum to prevent yawning. A popular method that some truck drivers are adopting today is to simply drinking energy drinks during their shifts.
