Water Truck Driver Jobs description
A water truck driver job involves driving a truck to transport water for construction projects and oil rigs, transporting potable water to crews working in remote sites and also driving a truck equipped with sprinkling attachment to spray water on roadways in order to control dust.A water truck driver is responsible for filling the truck with water from supplies, and obtaining alternate supply if normal source is not available. Other duties include loading and unloading water at local facilities, conducting pre-trip checkup and inspecting equipment before operating to ensure safe working condition, and performing service work to the truck, including oil changes and minor repairs.
The minimum educational qualification required for a water truck driver job is a high school diploma or a G.E.D. Minimum age requirement generally varies between 21-25 years. A class-A or B CDL is preferred. Prior over the road experience in commercial motor vehicles, a clean driving record and good communication skills are also important.
